the controls ar actual realy fun once you get used to them but youl need a bit of help
so when you wanna drift always hold forward and dont let go and then pick the direction you wanna drift in and dont hold and when you wanna stop driftng hold the opiset direction until youve stopped drifting and repeat untill you got the hang of it
also the bots should be nerfed they literally teleport
Game is cool, after 1 day i got the steering, on easy i did it, but on medium the bot destroys my mind, it dont drift and its pushing me on every turn, so i have to restart. On medium bots are terrible and inposible.
Btw for anyone wondering on how to open it with mac the instructions are bellow.
So first download this https://theunarchiver.com/ then go to the zip file and right click open with unarchiver, then open, it wont open yet it will say unidentified developer, sooooo then go to system preferences then type your password and click allow access. and there you go. any questions please reply.
It took way too long and I had no reason to do it, but I beat all the tracks on hard, got the banana car, and beat all of Dani's times! A lot of shortcuts were involved, but this was soooo difficult with how good the AI and Dani's ghost are and how hard drifting is!
I have made a mistake, im sorry dani's community its just that i simply get annoyed because the bot has better control then the player its a fun game thats for sure but the race can be a bit nerfed so the bot either drifts aswell or has less grip
ok first of all, this is a good game but there are a lot of things to polish. id personally rate this game 6/10. First you oversteer a lot. It clearly gives a disadvantage to players. I would like it if you can control the sensitivity of the steering. Second, the 180sx (VF120)'s grip is too loose. It is really hard to steer with the high sens. Third, majority uses controller to play racing games since it is easier. Please add controller support and im sure many more people will play this game. Forth, the npc racer tends to ram into you almost all the time. It is really frustrating when you are winning and suddenly, the s14 just rams into you. And fifth, when you are drifting, you oversteer most of the time. but to recover from oversteering, you have to hold the acceleration button (w, upwards arrow key). i dont really like that because when you are off a cliff, you will fall. Please i dont mean any hate, I just want to let the developers know that fixing these problems will help others too.
hey there, so basically u need to download this app called itch.io on whatever browser u have, and then u just search it up on the app and the rest is very simple :) hope this helps, ask me any questions!
graphics: the environment has a low-poly vibe that is well executed and looks good, some cars are more detailed and do stick out but it isn't a big issue after you get used to it
controls: the drifting is your worst enemy at first as you will literally skid on every corner (this is especially bad on keyboard so I recommend using a controller). once you do eventually learn to first control and then manage the drift mechanic it becomes more of a handy tool to take any turn at high speed which is a necessity for harder difficulties.
gameplay: + The AI driver slows down and speeds up depending on how good you are keeping the battles tense and entertaining. + The tracks are varied and each have interesting course design. + The drifting mechanic is fun once you figure it out and master it.
- The AI driver has a car that DOES NOT drift, even in the toughest corners. - The AI driver will just bump into you like the FR killer if you manage to slip ahead. - The AI car appears to be made of a tungsten-gold alloy making it impossible to get of track. - There is no tutorial or ANY explanation of how to drift your car so it's up to you to figure this stuff out.
extra notes: Learning the drifting mechanic is a NECESSITY if you want to do any intermediate or hard races and there is no explanation of it besides your car skidding like it is driving on dry ice. This is made worse by the fact that most people will use a mouse and keyboard and there is no analog input to dictate how much gas to give or how aggressive you want to steer, a controller (Xbox360/one on windows or any xbox/playsatation controller on linux (IDK about macOS so just try I suppose)) is definitely a really big help if you want to do ANYTHING drifting related. ~On the other hand you should keep in mind that there is no brake/reverse if you use your controller, and that the layout only uses your left hand while driving.~ see edit I would also love to see a multiplayer mode as this would be an amazing game to play with friends (if I had them).
conclusion: It's a fun game if you can look past the issues it has and manage to master the drifting mechanic. there are also a couple clipping issues with the maps that I would like to see fixed and if the problems I mentioned do get fixed it would be a game I am willing to pay for ($5-10) and would spend time to play with friends once I manage to acquire those (if anyone can help me with that please HMU)
EDIT: the controller issues I talked about are specific to my configuration and how unity handles game controllers, you should not run into those if you use windows or if you're a competent person (which I apparently am not)
I think this is a really good review, but I don't know what type of controller you are using because mine allows me to break and reverse just fine. I have an Xbox series X controller and the left trigger is reverse/stop and the right trigger is go. It also uses the left stick to steer and the B and A buttons to to the menus. Maybe other controllers are different though but the Xbox works fine.
so I found why the controller support didn’t fully work and it’s neither Dani’s or my fault.
I use an operating system called GNU/Linux (arch to be specific) and the unity version for linux makes some assumptions based on an older kernel (5.4) while I’m using the latest one available (5.11 now but 5.12 soon).
The problem is that those assumptions are wrong resulting in weird keybinds, this could be solved by using steam as an intermediary layer, but I will try a different driver first.
as for controller it shouldn’t really matter because I’m on Linux (and could even use a PS5 one if I wanted) but I’m using an Xbox one controller (with headphone jack) connected over USB.
again, I’m gonna look into using a different driver or intermediary layer to solve the issues with unity’s broken assumptions.
if you’re on windows I recommend 7Zip more as it never nags, is open-source and handles more files at a better ratio (it can even do tarballs (.tar.gz or .tar.xz are common variations) and it’s similar enough to winrar that you don’t have to deal with learning a new UI.
This game could be so good but after spending 4 hours trying to beat the first race and cant do it on normal because the npc doesnt even drift, he just rams you on every corner and its like he weighs 5x more than i do and has super grip on.
try to overtake him at the last point (AI speed varies depending on how far ahead/behind you are)
as for ramming, avoid touching it unless there is no other option.
if you still struggle to overtake him, try with a controller connected, the game should recognize it and it makes drifting infinitely easier, do keep in mind you won’t have a brake/reverse on the controller, but the keyboard still functions
I replied to your original comment but I will say it here too. At least on my xbox controller, braking/reversing works fine and is assigned to the left trigger while going is the right trigger.
very fun game, pretty lighting, and vroom vroom car sounds. I really liked how you aren't ever told to turn around If you were going the wrong way or punished for off-roading :)
the only problems I had were that the car has barely any traction and I kept getting stuck on geometry.
not completely and you shouldn’t go around calling people a dumb ass without any basis just because they are struggling with the controls.
the control scheme for PC does suck if you don’t use a controller and many people haven’t realized it yet, the drifting does get fun after you spend time to learn and master it.

the bots teleport to the last checkpoint when they're stuck, no? you can do that too if you want lmao

Hate it, sorry Dani but the movements are painful. The bots do not drift and they are like zombies.
Edit: I don't hate it, i was so frustrated but i'm still thinking the controls are like eating soup with a fork.
Ikr and they are like terminators go touch them once and youll spin out for ever
I have made a mistake, im sorry dani's community its just that i simply get annoyed because the bot has better control then the player its a fun game thats for sure but the race can be a bit nerfed so the bot either drifts aswell or has less grip

WHY CANT I INSTALL AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
I cant either it says my WinZip trial has run out and then wont let me renew it or continue
This is driving me MAD
r u on mac?
click on the red button or X and it will close.
download winrar you can use it forever without moneh

r u on mac
ok its milkman420 from the future. ive solved this by deleting some useless orange juice (just some files and junk)
I have a crappy computer and can't resize the window, so its stuck at rendering in full resolution and goes at 4FPS, please make window resizable

nice
Literally the worst racing game I've ever played. Controls are unbearable and frustrating
thats the point dumb ass
Well you can see that the title has "Jelly" drift. So the game would be hard, atleast play this if your a true gamer.
Poopy Head is A POOPY STINK
Tilt des Todes.
0/5 the dark souls of racing games really makes you feel like a banana a little something for everyone
thats the point dumb ass
not completely and you shouldn’t go around calling people a
dumb ass
without any basis just because they are struggling with the controls.the control scheme for PC does suck if you don’t use a controller and many people haven’t realized it yet, the drifting does get fun after you spend time to learn and master it.
lol i did not ask
This reminds me of the time I asked about the drill at dani’s house.
- gex
Car go vroom vroom
i love
d r i f t y - d r i f t y - s c r r t - s c r r
this is literally unplayable, i hate it
Cmon give it a shot i know that u didnt even try. Its not the easiest game :/
well i tried and i cant control anything i turn right and the car drifts into the void
try plugging in a controller if you’re on PC, it allows you to get control over how much gas to give and how far to steer
alright ill try that
thats the point dumb ass
Please don't call people "dumb ass" when they need help. That's just flat out mean and it makes you look childish.
lol i never asked
Well that just makes you look more childish
Agreed
Well that makes you look more childish and dumb
this was a joke man
