These versions are outdated. On Linux you can just install Steam (use the version from the official site) and install crab game with Proton Experimental enabled. It works great! No need to use the executables from here.
i know it looks sus but it actually worked, u cant play online because dani needs to update to 1.3 but u can get in the lobby and stuff so it will be ready for when he does update it
@oakley there is a new update tomorrow and the thing is not working rn. Your not stupid. try tomorrow on the 1.3 version and it should work. tell me if u need more help.
hello there! my application says it's damaged and to move it to the trash (mac 64bit), anything? i don't know how to work the command because im stupid, any help?
@oakley_plank Open the terminal and have finder open with the crab game application there. Paste this sudo chmod -R 755 into your console then drag the application into the terminal next to the line of code. It should look like something like this with the downloads part depending on where you're keeping the application. Then just hit enter it should work after that.
Im having problems in the loading screen where it says setting and new game and all that. My mouse is a bit delayed like 30 seconds or so and when I click on something it take a minute. could that be because of the new update?
quick question, when is the new update coming out.

Do you want him to not even bother with Linux builds in the future? I would certainly prefer running a native Linux version over a Windows build in Proton. Saying things like that is why developers usually don’t even bother with Linux builds and you have to deal with issues like Tetris Effect crashing when it displays a video, which wouldn’t be an issue if it had a native build.
I don't really get to test it as it's out of date lol but it looks like it should mostly be working fine, to any noobs of linux: HOW TO INSTALL ON LINUX: 1- Download the file above 2- Create a folder to extract the game to 3- Extract the files to the folder 4- Right click "CrabGameLinux.x86_64" and go to properties 5- Go to permissions and check the box which says 'allow executing file as a program' 6- Exit out of the properties window and click on the file and the game should run! enjoy
why you give host kick and ban? Its a PVP game, and host in the game, use your mind what will happen. I already seen some host kick player who win the game. Is this what you want?
If you want to ruin this game, keep the kick and ban.
After getting the game to run, you will need to install the Windows version of Crab Game in your Steam. Leave Steam running in the background, and open the Crab Game MacOS version downloaded from itch.io
This game is literally the best! I've experienced a few bugs as a Mac Silicon player which are: Input lag in the ui, can't see any servers. I hope they will get fixed. We're thanking you for making this masterpiece!
you probably don't have steam running in the backround thus having a older version of the game, the game is in version 1.3 rn so you must wait for the dev to update the mac file

Im having problems in the loading screen where it says setting and new game and all that. My mouse is a bit delayed like 30 seconds or so and when I click on something it take a minute. could that be because of the new update?
Thank you.
have you seen how much ping you have in game? maybe thats the problem ;/. I dont think its the update tho you must check after this update drops
Decreasing your resolution under "Video" should help with the lag
that might help too
quick question, when is the new update coming out.

@dani I can play even your windows build just fine with proton

Of course we'd like the native versions better but since they're outdated, using Proton builds is a no-brainer.
that's exactly my point of using proton build instead of native
;(
For those who are having issues with launching the game: I was able to get the windows version of the game working via Proton Experimental
lol @dani we still wait for 1.3
yes
I don't really get to test it as it's out of date lol but it looks like it should mostly be working fine, to any noobs of linux:

MAC users Instructions.
1. Download MAC64bit (even if you are SILICON). Do not unzip file.
2. Download steam crab game (reinstall if already installed).
3. Launch steam Crab game first and then quit.
DO NOT CLOSE STEAM
4. UNzip Mac crab game file.
5. Open a terminal
6. Write this in terminal: sudo chmod -R 755 (drag icon of the game to terminal, it should paste directory to it) press enter.
should look something like this :
sudo chmod -R 755 /Users/user/Desktop/Mac_64bits.app
7. Launch the Mac crab game and ENJOY
PS. There is a new version 1.3 which mac files do not support right now. Wait for Dani to update here.
followed all your steps and is still not working for me, says The application "Mac_64bits" can't be opened.
make sure u do step 6 correctly, it only gives that error bcs Dani isn't an authorised developer
I tried, copy pasted it exactly, doesn't work ;(
Actually now when I do all the steps, it says file is damaged and can't be opened, you should move it to the trash.
Same
New Version 1.3 BTW
how do we get that
we need to wait for dani to update the mac file, it should be in around 1 day or so
actually you can just use command from install instructions
bruh it keep saying crab game is damaged help
Doesn't show servers (((
new version
Works on MacOS Big Sur with Intel processor :D
