(+2)

(+2)

Ayy, He updates it but how do I see servers

Mid 2011 iMac running macOS High Sierra 10.13.6

Mac forces me to trash the game, says it's damaged and can't be opened.

Outdated on my end or error with the game?

edit: i think it just doesn't work on this mac, because i tried the command provided, it let me open but it immediately crashes

(1 edit)

Yeah mine is saying the same thing on 10.15.7 Catalina

(1 edit)

open terminal copy and paste this xattr -cr with a space at the end and then open finder and drag your squid game application into the terminal and hit enter should do the trick.  However, you're still not gonna see any servers cause the games broke.

has anyone using Mac can play this game? if yes pls tell me howwww

edit: the libsteam_api.so from the previous version does not work

edit2: libsteam_api.so from this package works https://github.com/rlabrecque/Steamworks.NET/releases/download/15.0.1/Steamworks... YAYKS

LISTEN GUYS, LISTEN ! I managed to make the 1.31 work under linux. There are two files missing in the package.

steam_appid.txt with content 1782210

just create this file (in your favourite text editor) in the root of your game and put said number on the first line.

Then there is missing  'CrabGameLinux_Data/Plugins/libsteam_api.so'. This file was part of the previous version (1.29) so copy it over from there, but I guess it could be found on the internet somewhere if you don't have the package anymore.

does this work for Mac?

where do you put those files

Thanks for the comment!

nah can u explain pls

same

same

i can open the game on m1 macos monterey, and when its on the title screen, its all fine, but when i move my mouse over to click play, or settings or anything on the screen, it takes alot of time for the game to realise that i brought my mouse there, for example when you hover your mouse over play, the letters get bigger and turn yellow, for me its delayed. Everything i click is delayed and the response time is like 10 seconds.
if i spam my mouse on the refresh button for example, nothing happens, but 10 seconds later, i see the button flashing and i hear the button clicking noises. also this happens to everyone else but i wanted to say i dont see the servers pop up, it loads forever and freezes and lags sometimes when the little loading circle is at the top. any ideas?

(1 edit) (+1)

Lower the video resolution on the settings it will fix it

finally thx bro

(1 edit) (+3)

Hmm, I can open the game but no servers appear to be available, and I cannot make my own private server? (PS: I am on Mac)

Does it work now and can you explain if it does

TUTORIAL TO OPEN THE GAME ON MAC M1:

-Download the 64bit version even if you're on mac M1

-Open the terminal and enter:

sudo chmod -R 755 /Users/jc/Desktop/Mac_64bit.app

Just change the path with your own game location by dragging and dropping it after the 755.

You should be able to open the game normally now

If you need additional permission to open unidentified developer's app, just follow the simple additional instructions in this video:

If the game lags after you open it, just lower the resolution a little bit and it will work perfectly.

I am able to get in the title screen but I can't join any games

Steam must be running

I tried steam, and I still don't see any servers

Open the steam version of the game, close it and then open your own downloaded game. It works

bro, you cant even download the steam version on mac. thats the whole reason this page exists

Have you got it to work?

It works perfectly well but now 1.32 is out so we have to wait

Can i have some help cus i dont know what u mean by path and when i type in the  [path it doesnt work

Just drag and drop the game in the terminal window, the path will appear automatically

does anybody know anything about the new update?

no.

hope this helps

(+1)

bruh

I'm using mac monetary, is it not supported?

Same, what error do you get?

The application “64bit” can’t be opened.

You have to right click the game and press show package contents, then you go Contents-MacOS  where you will see Crab Game. You then open terminal and type "chmod +x" add a space then drag Crab Game there and press enter, you then will be able to open it up.

And now it says that it's damaged... :(

how to download :(

wait for dani to update the mac/linux file

Deleted 3 years ago

this works to download and run arround in the lobby but dani will need to update this to1.3 as it is currently on 1.29
Deleted 3 years ago

You can alwways use boot camp through Mac. Learn how to install it there are many tutorials on YouTube

(+2)

not on M1 bootcamp isn't compatible

Deleted 3 years ago

Ohh right cause I'm on late a 2013 model and that's what I do whenever I play video games forgot about that, sorry

You don't need bootcamp, just download the 64bit version even on M1 and if you get an error saying you can't open the game just open the terminal and enter:

sudo chmod -R 755 /Users/jc/Desktop/Mac_64bit.app

Drop the app after the 755 and it will enter the path automatically. You'll then be able to open the app normally

fyi i tried parallels and if you change the time to before or while you had parallels then the time will be the amount of days that you changed it before you got paralells

(+4)

dani pls update ;(

1.3 where u at

(1 edit) (+1)

Both apple packages are broken (tested on m1 mbp) and steam version for mac is outdated :(

In this version binaries are not executables
To fix this you can do `chmod +x macos/Crab\ Game` and same in _CodeSignature\ directory. After that make sure to de-quaraninize app (google for that or see Install Instructions) cause we changed a signed package.

But it's actually pointless cause actual version is 1.3 and one in here is 1.29, so...

how did you get it working with m1...

Deleted 3 years ago

@awsomeSC same with me and I dont no how to fix it

I can actually play the game now on mac. However, its really REALLY laggy. Whenever I press a button, it takes 30 seconds or so to actually move. I'm on a mac mini (m1) if that helps.

Enable v-sync and\or decrease max fps to match your display's refresh rate

Turn down the resolution.  The same thing happened to me, tried turning down graphics but nothing worked.  As soon as I turned down the resolution it worked like a charm.

TYSM, you're a lifesaver :)

How did you manage to get it? all that happens when I open both versions is "cannot be opened"

Download the Crab Game (Mac 64bit) 1.29 version even if you have an M1 and run it through the terminal the first time, you will then be able to open it every time and it works perfectly well on my m1 macbook pro. I had to turn down the resolution because it was extremely laggy at first but now it's running at 60 fps with still a high resolution

what do you mean run it through the terminal?

Do what he does in this video, I did it and it somehow works perfectly now

Maybe it's because I'm on macOS Monterey or I'm on the new MacBook Pro, but I just get the error

The application “Mac_64bits” can’t be opened.

@NayamAmarshe what do I have to do im confused

1. Download Steam from https://store.steampowered.com/about/

2. Login and open steam.

3. After steam opens, in the menu click on View->Settings->Steam Play and check the 'Enable Steam Play for all other titles'

4. On steam search for Crab Game, install it and play :)

@Uzi.D prob today

@cadoozle look it up on youtube it is on there

When will 1.3 come out
