Get it working on Mac m1 steam (or u cant do that)

Lmao that's more up to unity

There is finally mutliplayer in muck in mac thank you Dani

how'd u get it working it keeps saying that I don't have permission to use the application

download the itch app

(1 edit)

Type “sudo chmod -R 755 [drag Muck] in terminal. That should fix it. So to run the game you need steam app and have to add Muck to steam using add other apps option and run it through steam to use multiplayer. If it doesn’t work 1st try relaunch it a few times.

Do I need to have the STEAM web running or the steam client?

steam client

(-1)

Why these versions aren't also on Steam?

(+1)(-1)

probpably because he has no idea if they work or not

(-1)

It isn't hard to find testers and actually they are already here.. So no.

good point

.

(+1)

why window is steam

(+1)

works perfectly on linux

you have to keep steam open while playing though

(+1)

Dani please add apple on steam too cause it works with unarchiver just the steam problem

ok gamers so I have noticed you are having some trouble opening it on mac so what you do is you right click o the file, hit open, type in the info, and then your good. now get to gaming

doesn't work

(-1)

Open terminal and type "chmod +x"

Then drag the file located in "Contents/MacOS... " (use : show content")

They will ask your password and GO on Muck

ive already tried this and it didnt work I think its cause its not supported on m1 Macs.

simpler option:

Type “sudo chmod -R 755 [drag Muck] in terminal. That should fix it. So to run the game you need steam app and have to add Muck to steam using add other apps option and run it through steam to use multiplayer. If it doesn’t work 1st try relaunch it a few times.

it does not allow me to open the file on Mac mini

(1 edit)

I hav the same problem except im on an m1 air

I think it's because the M1 macs and the older Macs run using a different OS, and Dani likely exported it for the old version, not the M1 Devices.

No. it’s just a macOS problem which can be fixed by:

Type “sudo chmod -R 755 [drag Muck] in terminal. That should fix it. So to run the game you need steam app and have to add Muck to steam using add other apps option and run it through steam to use multiplayer. If it doesn’t work 1st try relaunch it a few times.

(1 edit)

im on Mac and when I load the game it says "you do not have permission to open the application MAC" any help im on m1 Big Sur

I think it's because the M1 macs and the older Macs run using a different OS, and Dani likely exported it for the old version, not the M1 Devices.

that's a big cry

will you be able to get windows on itch.io? cause i cant use steam in highschool ;-; its blocked.

And Arch

STEAM IS OPEN BUT IT STILL SAYS yOuMusThA..

add the windows version to your account on steam, then it should work

(1 edit)

i cant open the application, i have steam running

Try installing steam and playing it using proton experimental

does it work on mac?

Yes but it’s slightly broken tho can fix by:

Type “sudo chmod -R 755 [drag Muck] in terminal. That should fix it. So to run the game you need steam app and have to add Muck to steam using add other apps option and run it through steam to use multiplayer. If it doesn’t work 1st try relaunch it a few times.

thanks it works now

(+1)

I hav steam running in the back but still cant host server ;-;     pls help

This sounds weird, but launch the game on steam even though it is Windows, it'll say "invalid platform" in a popup, don't close that popup and now launch the mac/linux executable and it should work.

(1 edit)

It worked thanks you soo much :DDD

(-3)

DANI WHY YOU JUST WHY bruh i wanted muck to be released on itch.io why did you relese it on steam(steam requires 70gb and i have a potato pc)please upload it on itch.io(or you cant do that)

uhh after read the comments i understand sorry i just (Sigh) nvm byee

(+1)

can you cross play with windows users on steam?

when I use the Mac version of the game there is no join game option and in the host lobby there is no server id or nothing

yeah multiplayer is not there for mac

it exists lol. You need to add Muck to steam using add other apps option and run it through steam to use multiplayer. If it doesn’t work 1st try relaunch it a few times.

so when I open the Mac version there is only a host button and no join button. Does anyone know why

that is intentional

Hi! Is there a way you could add the windows to itch.io. I have been boycotting steam for a while now, and I would like a way to play this game without having to create a steam account and install it.

(+1)(-1)

The window version is on steam

Fellow Boner

probably not, because the game uses steam networking to connect to each other. therefore you cannot play without a steam account. and in the video, he removed all of his code and ported it to steam because of the troubles of port forwarding and the many amount of people that not know how to configure it.

(2 edits)

the thing is it is supposed to be not published in steam, however it requires port fowarding in order to play multiplayer, but most people doesn't know what that is since most multiplayer games uses IP or there's a menu where you can select servers.

He put in Steam, so the players will not struggle to join in multiplayer and also, the game's networking code uses Steam to set its lobbies and players.

Also that's a dumb reason to not use Steam, it's really easy to play multiplayer with  this system.

You cannot play it if you don't use Steam, why won't you do it?

Hi!

The first day I got a steam account(last year), I spent 8 hours playing games. I was eventually able to get it down to 6 hours, and eventually to 5, but 5 hours is a lot of time to be spending playing something as not-worthwhile as a video game.

Over the next 7 months, I continued to have this addiction to gaming, barely paying attention to schoolwork and extra-curricular stuff. In December, I deleted my steam account.

I'm not a designer or anything but something about Steam's design makes the user more likely to spend a lot of time playing games and buy games. Itch.io doesn't really do that for me. I play about 30 minutes to an hour a day, mostly free game jam games, and I've been able to do a whole lot more with my life now. Itch.io is the only platform I use, and it doesn't really have the addictive-factor that steam does.

I guess it's just my opinion, but video games aren't a great use of much more than an hour or two. Sure, they're fun, but most games you play will leave your mind a month after you play them.

I hope that explains everything. Muck really isn't that big of a deal, it kinda just looks like another game that's famous just because of the developer behind it.

I see, the game is pretty good though, and Dani is actively updating with stuff and bug fixes (check the discord).

RedEyedFigure : i spent 8 hours playing games

me : pathetic i play up to 54 hours a day

uh on Mac even if I have steam open it won’t let me join…. Why not just add a Mac and Linux version for steam?

I would need that too.

how to fix:

add Muck to steam using add other apps option and run it through steam to use multiplayer. If it doesn’t work 1st try relaunch it a few times.

You have Steam? (and an account of course)

(+1)

I have steam opened and running in the back but still unable to host server. ;-;

check Dani's discord, maybe they can help with that

Me 2

You need to own muck on steam in ur librart the official steam and then launch it on itch launcher

Launch the game on steam, the windows version, and it will say "invalid platform".  Don't close that popup saying "invalid platform". But now when you open Muck from the mac/linux executable and try hosting it will work.

first open up steam and then open up muck

My Review: Loved the game. Graphics are amazing had to lower to medium cuz my lappy becomes potato on recording. Gameplay is goood but multiplayer is glitchy but i don't have problem w/ that cuz im fking loner.

Reaction:

To anyone having hosting/launching trouble on Linux:

chmod +x "executable name here"

And on Steam launch the game from the Windows store page, it'll say "Invalid platform", but keep that dialog open and launch Muck from the extracted path and now you'll be able to host games.

what executable goes in the quotations?

Muck_Linux.x86_64
