The "AI" is completely and utterly unfair. They get free resets, can push you off the track with ease and don't succumb to losing grip at all, which makes them directly better than you and honestly more a nuisance than a challenge.
If rewriting the "AI" to be better is out of your league, maybe you could just require players to beat a certain time rather than race against an opponent.
Also, the controls are whack and aren't explained whatsoever. Customizable keybinds will solve this, but it won't fix that the cars feeling like utter shit to drive and are borderline uncontrollable at times, making actual racing pointless.
"controls are whack and aren't explained whatsoever" aight but it's just WASD to drive and then spacebar for brake, you don't even really need the spacebar to beat the AI and all of Dani's 3 star times, so does this really need explanation? besides, keyboard/controller input was an afterthought, you realize the intended control scheme for this game is a banana, right? What customization could you want? arrow keys work fine too and there's no excessive keybinds that could possibly justify wanting to use ESDF/RDFG/TFGH or any other shifted control scheme
The AI isn't unfair, it gets free resets yes but so do you, internally it's literally hooked up to the same car object controlling the throttle, brake and steering in the exact same way you can, just automatically instead of from inputs - but i can agree, the AI might be a bit too good, but at least it's not unfair, just feels like it
Good game, but the controls are on the verge of being unacceptable. The car drifts from the slightest movement, and once it’s drifting it doesn’t stop.
Also, a lot of times when the drift gets you off of the road, going back is hard, since the road is a little higher up than the terrain.

The game was hardly responding, apps I had never seen or authorized started popping up telling me to update, and when I tried to delete the game it wouldn't let me. The file name kept changing, it wouldn't go to trash, and even after force quitting the music kept blaring. I admit this may be an issue entirely related to my own computer but my device has never reacted this way to any other game, itch.io or otherwise.

yeah. if you cant keep up with dani's ghost then you wont see the shortcuts he uses. Just before the five consecutive hairpins there is a little dirt ramp almost that you can use to jump across and skip two of the corners. this will save you 10 seconds easy. you can also skip the last corner by jumping off the birm backwards through the finish line. Dani doesn't do this and yet still has a fantastic time which is why he is god. I like the FD RX7 the best since it is speedy boi but a bit trickier to control. The 86 is great as well and so is the first car you can unlock from beating dusty desert on normal. Other than this you need to know which corners to drift and which ones to grip, but honestly on this course you should drift almost everything. Start the drifts early and straighten it out quick. Keep it clean and use my second shortcut to beat dani!
Controls are hard but satisfying when you understand it. Only problem is the AI which is dumb and when it rams you from behind while you're drifting gracefully it makes YOU look dumb as well. Otherwise, nice banana delivery simulator.

Yeah physics are a bit tricky but you can get good with practice. If you cant drift then dont, the grip runs for most tracks are almost as fast and some corners faster to grip

So, most AAA games are bad? Speedrunners and casuals alike use glitches to progress. That's Just a fact of gaming. Its a difficult game, maybe not intentionally, but it is. It is intended to kinda suck, its Dani, what'd you expect? You cant expect one guy to make a perfect racing game on his first try within a few months.

id call myself a game designer, seeing as im working on one right now, although i moreso compose/draw for it than design it. if you want a real review, then dani should...
1. fix the driving, way too slippery and is almost impossible to keep yourself on track 2. quit filling the games with memes or in-jokes, they weren't funny then they arent now 3. fix the difficulty, easy is still borderline unplayable
4. get better presentation
5. PLEASE stop getting the same guy to do the same music, his style is immensely noticeable

God damn thats harsh. Its a pretty good game you just gotta use a controller and practice a bit. Most fun ive had with a racing game since project cars 2. It has it's issues and the physics arent perfect but thats kinda part of the charm. Didn't have to break the game to beat it btw, but to beat danis godlike times you need to use the shortcuts that he built in.
No need to have a stick up your ass, while I agree that the whole 'reddit thicc milk funny' thing is annoying ,there's no need to go out of your way to go and say 'this sucks balls'
I really enjoyed the game and would love to see more content added. Overall a super fun game with challenging gameplay, banger music, nice car modals, and most importantly, it can be played with a banana.
super fun ai keeps destroying me on the turns also its funny how if you do the tracks in reverse but go through all the checkpoints you can still pass the course and as a bonus the ai just implodes on itself but on the akina downhill you cant scuff your way through it cuz if you try the ai kinda speedsup by a lot so you are screwed

How do you reset the progress in the game? I completed the game, unlocked everything, got all of the stars and I now want to try again from the start.
